Cobalt Oxalate (CoC2O4), Purity: > 98%
Description
CoC2O4 is the formula of the inorganic compound cobalt(II) oxalate. It is a coordination polymer, just like other basic inorganic oxalates. The Co(OH2)2 centers are bridged by oxalate ligands. Coordination geometry is octahedral for each cobalt.
It is employed in the production of cobalt metal powder for use in powder metallurgical applications as well as cobalt catalysts. It is produced during the recycling of lithium-ion batteries, wherein ammonium oxalate is used to precipitate the cobalt after it is leached from the cathode material (LiCoO2). One of the other common areas of use is Iron-Air batteries.
