Al 6061 Alloy Powder
6061 is a precipitation-hardened aluminum alloy, containing magnesium and silicon as its major alloying elements. Its mechanical properties make it ideal for a wide range of applications. However, it is especially suitable for applications such as building products, electrical products, piping, and recreational products. Its melting point is nearly 585℃ and has a density of 2.70 g/cm3. It has 145 MPa yield strength and 241 MPa ultimate tensile strength.
It has good mechanical properties, exhibits good weldability. Aluminum 6061 alloy powders are widely used in construction of aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselages, yacht construction, including small utility boats, automotive parts, such as the chassis of the cars , flashlights, aluminum cans for the packaging of food and beverages, scuba tanks and other high pressure gas storage cylinders. The Aluminum 6061 alloy powder is one of the most common and versatile material for extrusion. It is generally referred to as structural aluminum since its strength makes it ideal for structural applications. However, due to its good combination of properties, it can also be used in a variety of project types.
