Chromium Sputtering Targets
Chromium is a silver, lustrous and very hard metal with ‘mirror shine’ nature when it gets polished. Chromium mainly is used in alloys (e.g. stainless steel), chromic coating, and metal ceramics. Silvery and shiny finish materials for cars and bicycles are the products of chromium coating with chromium sputtering targets that prevents corrosion of the material. Naturally, chromium unstable in oxygen and forms a thin layer of oxide that is impermeable and protects the metal coated. Chromium sputtering targets can also be used to increase the hardness of the material to extend its durability and inhibit corrosion reaction. Chromium sputtering targets primarily used in metal industries to produce a high corrosion resistance material with an attractive shiny coated surface. Chromium compounds give green, yellow, red, orange pigments in catalysts industries.
