AZ91 Magnesium Alloy Powder
AZ91 magnesium alloy is the most popular material among magnesium alloys due to relatively high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and good cast-ability. Magnesium alloy attracts increasing attention for its low density or high specific strength, which provides considerable weight saving potential in automobile and transport industries. The characteristics such as high strength to weight ratio, thermal conductivity, good machinability, high damping, easy recyclability, high specific strength and good vibration absorption lead to usage of Mg alloys in computer parts, household equipment and implants, automotive and aerospace industries and biomaterials. Alloy AZ91D is the most widely used magnesium alloy and has an excellent combination of mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and castability. Its melting point is nearly 533℃ and has a density of 1.81 g/cm3. It has 160 MPa yield strength and 230 MPa ultimate tensile strength. It is relatively light-weight material. AZ91 Magnesium alloy powders are used for both cast and forged components, with the aluminum-containing alloys usually used for casting and the zirconium-containing ones for forgings, the zirconium-based alloys can be used at higher temperatures and are popular in aerospace.
