Cuprous Oxide (Cu2O) Nanoparticles
Cuprous oxide nanoparticles are very minute particles of 1-30nm diameter with the spherical high surface area. Cuprous oxide nanoparticles form a powder of dark brown to black and are highly significant for research and commercial purposes. Cuprous oxide has a cubic structure with diamagnetic ordering. These nanoparticles demonstrate very strong catalytic activities that make these nanoparticles highly useful for biosensors and electrochemical sensors. These nanoparticles are extremely small with high surface area and this property makes them serve as antibacterial and antifungal agents. Apart from these applications, cuprous oxide nanoparticles are deemed as best coloring agents and are widely used as pigments. They are also used as an antifouling agent for ship bottom and marine paints. It is a comparatively more stable compound than the metallic copper but yet they are highly reactive. We use highly pure copper metal to produce cuprous oxide nanoparticles and are sealed in a vacuum before delivering the order to maintain its quality.
