Lead Oxide Micron Powder

Lead Oxide Micron Powder

Lead (II) oxide, also called lead monoxide, is the inorganic compound with the molecular formula PbO.  It is an amphoteric oxide. Lead has a lot of oxide forms including PbO, PbO2 (α, β, and amorphous), Pb2O3, and Pb3O4. The color of tetragonal crystalline structure is red with α-PbO form known as litharge and a bandgap of 1.9–2.2 eV, which has shown to be stable at room temperature, while orthorhombic crystalline structure is yellow with β-PbO form known as massicot and a bandgap of 2.7 eV, which seems to be stable at high temperatures, above 488°C.Among them, lead monoxide (PbO) has been studied the most. Lead oxide is known as an important industrial material, which has been widely utilized in batteries, gas sensors, pigments and paints, ceramics, and glass industry and as a catalyst in synthetic organic chemistry. Lead oxide micron powders can be synthesized by several methods such as calcination, laser ablation, thermal decomposition, sol-gel, and via biosynthesis
