Praseodymium Oxide Micron Powder

Praseodymium Oxide Micron Powder

Praseodymium oxide is the inorganic compound with the formula Pr6O11 that is insoluble in water. It has a cubic fluorite structure. It is the most stable form of praseodymium oxide at ambient temperature and pressure.Praseodymium belongs to Block F, Period 6 while oxygen belongs to Block P, Period 2 of the periodic table. Praseodymium oxide has a number of potential applications in chemical catalysis, and is often used in conjunction with a promoter such as sodium or gold to improve its catalytic performance. Praseodymium  oxide can be used as a dielectric in combination with silicon. Praseodymium-doped glass, called didymium glass, turns yellow and is used in welding goggles because it blocks infrared radiation. Praseodymium oxide is also used to color glass and ceramics yellow. For coloring ceramics, also the very dark brown mixed-valence compound praseodymium oxide, Pr6O11, is used.
